"Artificial stone polished finish" concrete bench
High-durability concrete bench that allows for the creation of highly flexible shapes.
This is a concrete bench made using a plastering technique called "artificial stone grinding finish." The artificial stone grinding finish refers to a series of processes including rebar shaping, concrete molding, trowel application, and polishing, all of which are done by skilled artisans. Due to its smooth texture and the ability to shape it freely, it was once widely used in school drinking fountains, park slides, and modern architecture from the Taisho and Showa eras. Rebar is bent according to the shape, and concrete is filled and molded inside. A mixture of colored cement paste and aggregate (natural stone crushed) is applied, and after hardening, grinding reveals the beautiful aggregate.
